The National Center for Education Statisics (NCES) compiled some interesting statistics about higher education world-wide. Baccalaureates in the biological sciences are on the rise (5%), and so are Ph.D.'s, but not by much (1%). And, women earned more Associate's, Bachelor's and Master's degrees than men but still avoid engineering like the plague.
