Ribosome Builder version 0.3.4 has just been released, and is available at
http://rbuilder.sourceforge.net
The Ribosome Builder is an open source project for simulating the ribosomal translational machinery and other macromolecular systems. The most recent release features a schematic simulation of a complete cycle of elongation on the ribosome, using structural models at atomic resolution.
The simulation incorporates text, graphics, changing viewpoints, geometrical interpolation of rigid-body structural models and recorded movies of molecular dynamics trajectories. This type of simulation is expected to becoming increasingly useful in the future to investigate and communicate models of complex macromolecular systems.
Any comments, user feedback and developer participation in the project are welcome!
