JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
To execute selected research responsibilities that are part of KSU?s tasking under the NSF/FIBR grant entitled ?Molecular evolutionary ecology of developmental signaling pathways in complex environments?. This multi-department/university project involves the computational analysis of a basic biological process, the genetic control of development to flowering. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty scientists in the application of bioinformatics/computational biology to this basic biological research. Duties include development of web-accessible databases for Arabidopsis thaliana genome data: Additional responsibilities will include teaching bioinformatics. Specifically, this includes the creation and delivery of a distance course on the computational modeling of genetic systems.

REQUIREMENTS:
Requirements include a Ph.D. and demonstrated accomplishments in bioinformatics or computational biology or in biology, molecular biology or developmental genetics with a bioinformatics emphasis. Research experience at the postdoctoral level (or equivalent) in bioinformatics/computational biology is preferred. Relevant interests include gene expression analysis, database mining, molecular modeling, relational databases, algorithm design, and software development
