The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation?s Bioinformatics laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral fellow with a degree in quantitative sciences, engineering or related life sciences field (e.g. Physics, Bioinformatics/Computational Biology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Plant Biology, etc.) to participate in independent researches as well as collaborative experiments that focus on the application of bioinformatics and genomics technologies to modern plant biological questions. The successful candidate will participate as a member of a larger integrative functional genomics team conducting fundamental science discovery in plant biology focused on Medicago truncatula, tall fescue and other plant species.
Research will be conducted in the laboratory of Dr. Xuechun Zhao in the Plant Biology Division at the Noble Foundation. The Noble Foundation has state-of-the-art research, greenhouse, laboratory, and office facilities. A starting salary of $40,000 is anticipated and is provided with excellent benefits.REQUIREMENTS
Preferred qualifications include: Educated to the level of PhD in quantitative sciences, engineering or related life sciences field with a strong analytical content with previous experience developing large scale scientific database and data analysis systems. Programming skills with C/C++, Perl, Java, XML, and SQL using Oracle/Microsoft SQL Server are highly desirable; understanding of biological research and the ability to develop applications to aid basic researches in Plant Biology; experience in bioinformatics is desired but not necessary.HOW TO APPLY
