    BACKGROUND

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    You will lead and manage a highly motivated team of software support and software development engineers in support of our in-house developed Laboratory Information Management System. You will be responsible for entire Software Development Lifecycle, including the gathering and prioritizing of customer requirements, project planning and management, and creating and maintaining technical documentation. You will be expected to support all major bioinformatics systems utilized by the genome scanning production department, including sample preparation, chip and reagent inventory, hybridization workflows and scanning, ensure proper training and support is provided to the production and bioinformatics teams, and direct the laboratories' business rules and workflow requirements. Additional responsibilities include providing feedback to senior management and project teams and participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle.

    REQUIREMENTS
    To qualify, you should have a BS or equivalent in CS, Mathematics/Statistics, Bioinformatics or related field and 5-8 years experience in LIMS software development supporting a high-throughput environment, Windows programming and data-base driven application development. At least 3-5 years of technical staff management experience is also necessary, as is familiarity with GLPs, the ability to work with users to effectively identify key requirements, and the ability to create, persuade and execute on a technical architecture/design vision. Strong SQL Server skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and familiarity with biology are essential. Oracle and statistical process control experience is desirable.
