The newest service offered by Ambion is a microarray gene expression service for Affymetrix GeneChips.

    BACKGROUND

    Ambion Services is looking for a seasoned statistician with experience in pharma, CRO, or consulting environment to join our analysis team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the right mix of technical capability and entrepreneurial spirit. The successful candidate will be responsible for statistical analysis of RNA expression experiments and help during the experimental design consultation process. Helping to design and implement custom statistical analysis plans for clients. Superior communication is essential as this person will communicate with a broad range of people across several disciplines, explaining data analysis, data analysis methods, experimental design methods, statistical issues to customers or prospects. Team work will be critical, as will an ability to work under tight deadlines.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Ph.D. in statistics, with proven experience in analysis of large and small Affymetrix® GeneChip studies, clinical trials or statistical genetics, M.S. with 4-5 years of industry experience with the above skills will be considered
    • Excellent understanding of statistical aspects of microarray data analysis methodologies and experimental design
    • In-depth experience with S+, R and Bioconductor
    • Programming and database experience
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent problem solving skills
    • Team player
