    DESCRIPTON

La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology, San Diego, CA

    Postdoctoral opportunity available now:

We are looking for a Computational Biologist that can work with a team of biologists and visualization experts.

We are in the process of developing and extending a novel cellular automaton that will be used to make predictions in vaccine design for acute persistent viral infections. This effort is integrated tightly with biological experimentation and interaction with virologists and immunologists is given on a daily basis on site. In addition, wet lab vaccine studies will be used to train and validate the model. The NIH based approach to create an Immune Epitope Database for many class A pathogens is also located at La Jolla Institute. Therefore, the environment is ideally suited to develop and grow a interdisciplinary program with the goal to accelerate and improve design of novel vaccines.
