    DESCRIPTION

    What is SOCR? The SOCR resource provides tools for interactive demonstration of various concepts presented in undergraduate and graduate probability and statistics courses. In addition, SOCR provides scientific computing libraries that are utilized by remote client programs, independent of the HTML-based SOCR interfaces. The SOCR tools have a tight kernel with all objects designed and implemented as plug-ins in object oriented fashion.

    POSITION

    We are interested in hiring a Postdoctoral Fellow to expand the SOCR online resources. The position is available immediately and is for 1 year and with possible extension upon satisfactory progress. The focus of the work will be to develop new models and analysis strategies and extend the SOCR Modeler and SOCR Analyses packages, using the SOCR plug-in architecture. Subject to funding regulations the salary is commensurate with the individual's experience.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    Applicants should hold a Doctoral degree, or equivalent, in Statistics, Biostatistics, Biomathematics, Engineering or a related discipline. This position requires extensive expertise in probability modeling, statistical analysis, computational statistics and Java programming. Prior teaching experience is also required as this work may involve teaching courses utilizing the resources.
