BACKGROUND, RESPONSIBILITIES
A position is available immediately, in the laboratory of Francis Ouellette, to lead the development of a system for the integration of diverse data sets to aid researchers in assessing hypotheses about the mechanisms underlying specific human genetic disorders. Data types include scientific literature, gene expression, molecular interactions, and functional classification. Individuals will work cooperatively with a team of scientists at UBC and the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.LOCALE

Interested candidates should have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in computer science, molecular biology, or statistics, and demonstrated experience in programming, algorithms, graph theory, probability, data mining, and interpreting biological data. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated capacity to work in a multidisciplinary, highly collaborative environment and be able to communicate research data clearly through publications and oral presentations to both life science and computer science audiences.SALARY AND BENEFITS, TERMS
The position is for one year with the possibility of renewal for a total of three years. We offer a competitive salary with travel stipend.
