Position Title: Manager of Clinical Research Informatics

The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking a director of Clinical Research Informatics to work under the direction of the CIO of Information Services. This person will be responsible for all of the activity related to clinical research systems, including clinical trials, outcomes research, clinical data warehousing and the emerging field of translational research.RESPONSIBILITIES
· Works with the research community to develop and implement a strategic information system plan to support DFCI?s clinical research mission.
· Develops plans and systems to support DFCI?s translational research needs.
· Oversees the implementation of a new vendor-based clinical trials system.
· Manages growth of current outcomes research systems.
· Manages growth of the current clinical data warehouse.
· Coordinates activities with DFCI?s many research partners including Brigham & Women?s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Children?s Hospital and Beth Israel/Deaconess Medical Center.
· Manages a staff of 15 to 25 programmers, analysts and consultants.
· Manages a 1 to 2 million dollar annual operating budget.
· Develops grant and other funding sources.REQUIREMENTS
· A Masters in information systems or clinical research area is required. An M.D. or P.H.D. in clinical research is preferred.
· 8+ years of experience in information systems is required
· 3+ years experience with complex information systems implementations is required.
· 3+ years of demonstrated leadership and management skills is required.
· 3+ years of providing support to clinical researchers at healthcare, pharmaceutical or biotechnology organizations is required.
· Knowledge of NCI/national research initiatives, genomics and bioinformatics is strongly preferred.
· Direct experience as a researcher on a clinical trial or other scientific project is highly desirable.HOW TO APPLY
