BACKGROUND

Mendel Biotechnology, Inc., a privately-held, functional
genomics company studying plant transcription factors,
has a job opening for a Senior Biostatistician.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will work with Plant Biologists and Computer Scientists
developing novel methods to discover genes, pathways, dynamics
and modes of action in Arabidopsis thaliana and in crop plants.
We are looking for a talented individual who can improve the design
of experiments and drive the analysis of complex data sets in
a program leading to an integrated picture of plant biology.

REQUIREMENTS

Speak, read and write English fluently;
Know R or S-plus;
Know Perl;
Know molecular biology;
Know statistics for microarray analysis;
Know experimental design and analysis;
Have a Ph.D. or equivalent experience.

PREFERENCES

In depth programming experience;
Familiarity with Affymetrix microarray platform;
Rosetta Resolver;
Bioconductor;
Plant molecular biology;
Plant physiology;
Unix internals;
SQL and Oracle;
CGI and HTML.
