Opportunity: BIOINFORMATICS Consultant in Java Software Development--Mexico

DESCRIPTION
The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), a non-profit research and training organization is seeking a highly innovative and self-motivating candidate for a position of Bioinformatics consultant in Java Software Development.
The position is partially supported by the Generation Challenge Program (http://www.generationcp.org) and is for a fixed-term contract of 6 months. The position will be based at CIMMYT?s Research Station located near Mexico City, Mexico.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be involved in
1. Development of JAVA software for the interchange of molecular data between bioinformatics tools.
2. Training of CIMMYT staff in JAVA software development.
REQUIREMENTS
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications, skills, characteristics and interests:
1. Degree in Biological or Computational Sciences.
2. At least two years experience in JAVA software development for Bioinformatics.
3. Specific experience in open source development including JDBC, Hibernate, XML, XSLT, Apache Struts and Axis, SVG, Eclipse, and UML.
4. Ability to well work in a team.
5. Proficiency in the English language required.
