    BACKGROUND INFORMATION

    St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, located in Memphis, Tennessee, is a premier center for research and treatment of potentially fatal childhood diseases, including cancer and certain blood, genetic, and immunodeficiency disorders. The hospital's mission is to find cures for children with catastrophic diseases through treatment and research. St. Jude Hospital is dedicated to providing unsurpassed patient care and to advancing the health of children through biomedical research.

    Currently, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has an opening for a Data Warehouse Specialist.

    DESCRIPTION

    The Data Warehouse Specialist works under the direct supervision of the Data Warehouse Specialist II to further develop skills, experience, and working knowledge related to database architecture, logical and physical database design, entity relationship modeling, object models, database schema, database normalization, and de-normalization techniques. Works with Data Warehouse Specialist II in the proper use of ETL tools, writing stored procedures, packages, views, and triggers to support the development, maintenance, implementation, and support of data stores, data marts, and data warehouses. Supports data warehousing projects including the ability to achieve a fundamental understanding of dimensional data modeling--star and snow flake schemas. Develops standard and ad-hoc reports using tools such as Hyperion/Brio or Crystal Reports.

    REQUIREMENTS

    The successful candidate will have the following requirements:
    • Minimum three (3) year experience with data warehousing and data modeling is required.
    • Minimum three (3) year experience with a program language such as Java, Java Script, and C++ is required.
    • Minimum three (3) year experience writing stored procedures, packages, views and triggers is required.
    • Familiar with the Software Engineering Institute's Capability Maturity Model (SEI/CMM) preferred.
