    RESPONSIBILITIES

    _ Act as the RNAi Laboratory Information Management System Administrator.
    • Perform RNAi data analysis, including writing discrete software modules to analyze and/or manipulate RNAi related quality control data and functional validation data.
    • Perform RNAi libraries annotation including the identification of relevant data from various external sites.
    • Act as an interface to the wider company information technology organization, ensuring that data is seamlessly passed between the RNAi Information Management System and SAP.
    • Maintain and build on the intellectual knowledge and skills base and act as a recognizable and credible scientific resource within the RNAi initiative.
    • Assist with the development of new RNAi products.
    • Assist with the procurement and implementation of new automation and instrumentation for the RNAi production pipeline and assist with equipment maintenance.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • MS in molecular biology, genomics, proteomics, cell biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics or related life sciences field. A PhD is desirable.
    • 3-5 years experience in a relevant life sciences field.
    • Extensive knowledge in bioinformatics use and theory.
    • Ability to write code in Java, PERL, C++, Visual Basic.
    • Knowledgeable in regulatory requirements of bioinformatics and life sciences in general.
    • Ability to design and implement complex bioinformatics software code.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to develop, manage and complete projects and to interact with internal and external customers to solve product problems and develop new bioinformatics products.
    • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment as prescribed by the company and to work in laboratories with potential contact with chemicals and biologicals.
    • Ability to use standard office computers, servers, bar-coding equipment and other associated standard information technology equipment daily.
