An opening exists for a Postdoctoral Research Staff Member in the Computation Directorate to work as part of an interactive computational team focused on functional annotation of gene regulatory elements in vertebrate genomes. The main goal of the project is to develop statistical and comparative genomics methods and tools to devise bioinformatics strategies for functional annotation of noncoding DNA.REQUIREMENTS
The qualified candidate will hold a recent PhD in bioinformatics, genomics, computer science, or related field with a strong publication record. The incumbent must possess extensive knowledge of comparative genomics including software development and experience with gene regulation mechanisms, as well as experience establishing genome analysis computational methods and implementing large scale data analysis techniques. You will need an expert's familiarity with genomic databases and available software and excellent communication skills.
