    BACKGROUND

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Our "Member of Technical Staff" positions develop innovative technologies, prototypes, components, processes and/or algorithms in their area[s] of specialty to successfully execute contract work or develop new business opportunities. Our "Member of Technical Staff" positions will generally have job responsibilities dealing with solving complex problems, creating technical innovations, acting independently or with little supervision and serving as a liaison internally [with technical and business development staff] and externally [with clients, prospective clients and other interested parties]. Our Members of Technical Staff can also expect to have responsibilities or involvement in the areas of Leadership, Administration and Business Development as it relates to their particular business area. Chosen candidate must possess excellent communication [verbal, written and listening] and organizational skills, and be an experienced group speaker/presenter. Experience in managing projects and/or tasks strongly preferred.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Candidate must possess demonstrated expertise in informatics for life sciences. Must be familiar with database management systems and data mining algorithms. Experience with distributed/federated systems a plus. Must be familiar with research and development process for therapeutics and prophylactics, and the informatics tools used to support discovery and translational research. Experience with information requirements for the drug regulatory process a plus. Expertise or at least familiarity with current informatics packages, including medical/clinical informatics.

    PREFERENCES

    BS plus 5-7 years relevant experience required, MS preferred. Machine Learning expertise a plus, Knowledge bases expertise a plus, publication record conmensurate with experience. Due to requirements for government contractors, this position requires US citizenship or permanent resident status.
