    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Our "Member of Technical Staff" positions develop innovative technologies, prototypes, components, processes and/or algorithms in their area[s] of specialty to successfully execute contract work or develop new business opportunities. Our "Member of Technical Staff" positions will generally have job responsibilities dealing with solving complex problems, creating technical innovations, acting independently or with little supervision and serving as a liaison internally [with technical and business development staff] and externally [with clients, prospective clients and other interested parties]. Our Members of Technical Staff can also expect to have responsibilities or involvement in the areas of Leadership, Administration and Business Development as it relates to their particular business area. Chosen candidate must possess excellent communication [verbal, written and listening] and organizational skills, and be an experienced group speaker/presenter. Experience in managing projects and/or tasks strongly preferred.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Candidate must possess demonstrated expertise in database systems and techniques as they apply to informatics applications for the life sciences, in particular, in discovery and translational research and development of therapeutics and prophylatics. Experience in developing applications that access public/private life sciences information sources (e.g., Medline). Knowledge of NCBI provided tools and standards. Experience with federated database solutions (especially informatics databases) required. Expertise with regulatory information requirements a plus.

    PREFERENCES

    BS and 5-7 years relevant experience required. MS preferred. Data Mining expertise a plus, Web search expertise a plus.

    Due to requirements for government contractors, this position requires US citizenship or permanent resident status.
