    BACKGROUND

A postdoctoral position is available immediately to work with Kevin J. Verstrepen. The Verstrepen lab applies a combination of computational techniques and laboratory experiments to investigate the functional role of tandem repeats in various genomes.

    DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will perform in silico analyses of tandem repeats in the human genome and/or basic analytical analyses to assess the variability of these sequences in tumors.

    REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must have completed a PhD in computing, bioinformatics or molecular biology, with a proven interest in bioinformatics or genome-wide analyses. Candidates with a background in bioinformatics without experience in experimental laboratory work, but who have an interest in learning some of the basic experimental techniques, are especially encouraged to apply.
