BACKGROUND
The Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Lab in the NYU School of Medicine is seeking postdoctoral candidates in the area of bioinformatics and computational biology. We are working closely with the genomics and proteomics laboratories at the NYU School of Medicine (e.g. the Brian Dynlacht Lab is combining biochemical and computational approaches towards understanding transcriptional control of the cell cycle and differentiation in mammalian cells http://www.med.nyu.edu/research/dynlab01.html) and at Yale University (with the Weissman Lab).RESPONSIBILITIES
We are particularly interested in applicants with substantial training and experience in computer algorithms and/or mathematical statistics to join us in developing new methods for integrating and analyzing genomic and proteomic data.REQUIREMENTS
The applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in computational biology, computer science, statistics, physics, mathematics, biophysics, bio-engineering or molecular biology.
Strong ability in computer programming is required. Knowledge in computer languages and statistical software such as R, Perl, matlab and C/C++ is preferred.HOW TO APPLY
