    BACKGROUND

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Invitrogen Corporation is looking for a bioinformatics database developer who is successful in and enjoys working in an ever changing environment with great challenges and opportunities. As part of an existing bioinformatics team, the developer will be responsible for the development and implementation of an integrated database for the management of genomic related products and tools.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelorâ??s degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics or equivalent field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 5+ years experience building large scale databases (Oracle and Sybase Preferred) in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry and Architect role experience with hands-on development of architecture and design.
    • Enterprise application development experience across all major tiers of presentation, business logic, domain/data. Demonstrated experience with J2EE, WebGainâ??s Toplink framework, Jboss, Struts, JavaServlets, JSP, JavaBeans, JDBC and XML is highly desirable
    • Extensive experience with ERWIN for logical and physical data modeling and reverse engineering
    • Experience in Project Management and Laboratory Information Systems is a plus
