BACKGROUND

Ph.D. in Biology, Statistics, Mathematics or related field, with research in the computational analysis of molecular biology data

POSITION

The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Carolina (USC) is seeking to fill a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level, beginning Fall 2006, in the area of quantitative analysis of molecular biological data.

Potential research areas include genomics (microarray) and/or proteomics data analysis, systems biology, statistical modeling, population genetics, the genetics of complex traits, and molecular evolution.

Candidates whose research interests overlap with existing areas of research strength at USC will be given preferential consideration.

This is a joint search involving the Departments of Biological Sciences, Mathematics, and Statistics.

The successful candidate will have a primary appointment in one of the three departments, with the possibility of a secondary appointment in one of the other departments.
