    BACKGROUND:
    The new Institute for Systems Biology and Bioinformatics at the National Central University, Taiwan, is seeking several faculty members.

    Life science at the National Central University is undergoing rapid expansion. The Department of Life Science moved to its own new building at the beginning of 2005, the Center for Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering begins operation in the Fall of 2005 and ISBB will have its first Master's and PhD degrees graduate students in 2006.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Candidates for faculty positions at ISBB must have a Ph.D degree in fields relevant to systems biology and demonstrated strong teaching and research abilities, and can qualify for the ranks of assistant, associate, or full professor. Candidates with an interdisciplinary background involving biology, computer or natural science, and those engaged in high throughput wet-bench or micro-array based experiments are encouraged to apply.

    The successful candidate will teach graduate level courses relevant to systems biology and bioinformatics, supervise graduate students and conduct independent research supported by externally applied research grants.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    Post PhD level interdisciplinary background involving biology and computer or natural science, or ability to conduct high throughput wet-bench or micro-array based experiments. Ability to teach graduate courses relevant to systems biology. Ability to secure externally applied research grants.

    PREFERENCES:
    High throughput experiment or analysis relevant to systems biology
