The Centre for Integrated Systems Biology of Ageing and Nutrition is seeking outstanding scientists to join this new centre investigating the molecular and cellular mechanisms of ageing and their interactions with nutrition. CISBAN provides an intensely multidisciplinary research environment with state-of-the-art facilities. Extensive use is made of technologies such as expression arrays and proteomics, in addition to specialised imaging and cell sorting procedures. The experimental work is closely complemented by extensive research in methods for data integration, analysis, modelling and statistical inference.

This post is for a scientist with a strong background in e-Science, knowledge discovery and semantic data integration to develop new methods for integrating biological data to construct and parameterise biological models. Experience in the use of Web services, workflows and knowledge of data formats for biological pathway representation and exchange (such as BioPAX) would be an advantage. You will have responsibility for designing and implementing a fully integrated, federated data repository to support the needs of CISBAN.
