    EPA announces `Environmental Bioinformatics Centers' in North Carolina and New Jersey

    ``EPA has awarded $9 million in grants to establish two environmental bioinformatics centers that merge computer science, biology, and toxicology to predict hazardous outcomes and advance the field of human health and ecological risk assessment. The grants were awarded to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey at Piscataway.''

    Additionally, Bioinformatics.Org will be working with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on developing an outreach program and website for the public dissemination of research at the UNC Environmental Bioinformatics Center.
