    BACKGROUND

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Provide bioinformatics and computational biology analysis support for research projects in systems biology and synthetic biology
    • Be part of development of genomic/proteomic analysis tools, data interpretation, participation in the design and development of new scientific software, and apply them to clinical experiments.
    • Be part of a creative team of researchers involved in computational/systems biology for molecular diagnostics and therapy.
    • Carry out collaborative research with Philips staff, and external collaborators;
    • Contribute to the creation of new computational methods and tools and publish and/or patent novel methods and discoveries as determined by our proprietary interests.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Ph.D. in a biological, computational or related science (Ph.D. in the Life Sciences preferred); Multidisciplinary background.
    • 2-3 years experience in bioinformatics/computational biology is required. Candidate should have strong statistics and/or machine learning background.
    • Experience with the quantitative measurement of biomolecules preferred (e.g. microarrays, mass spectroscopy).
    • Linux/MS windows skills; Bioinformatics tools, Matlab, scripting and database skills.
    • Knowledge of molecular basis of disease and/or medical diagnostics principles would be a plus.
    • Clinical interpretation of results, strong skills to interpret and analyze the scientific data is a real plus.

    Briarcliff Manor, NY located in beautiful historic Westchester County about one hour north of Manhattan.
