    BACKGROUND

Verseon is a privately held, rapidly growing Silicon Valley-based drug discovery company. Verseon has developed a proprietary in-silico design and medicinal chemistry platform that finally fulfills the promise of structure-based rational drug discovery. The Verseon solution is focused on delivering novel small molecule drugs that target unmet market needs.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the core R&D team you will be a part of a highly collaborative and fast-paced, multi-disciplinary research environment. Your duties will include the planning, quantitative analysis, and scientific curation of a large virtual compound library, as well as subsequent compound selection for both virtual screens and HTS assays for targets in our drug discovery program. You will also be expected to undertake preliminary physiochemical (in-silico) characterization of small molecule hits including PK, solubility, and ADME and toxicity profiling. In addition you will be actively involved in validating synthetic feasibility of candidate small molecules. You will also be expected to be proficient in, or a quick study for, the use of myriad computational analysis and prediction tools.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry or related field.
    • Minimum of 3-5 yrs of relevant work experience in industry.
    • Fundamental understanding of pharmaceutical product development, including metabolism, pharmacokinetics, and other facets of hit-to-lead design, with emphasis on informatics.
    • Client-side experience in the scientific use of compound databases and other established (medicinal) chemistry software packages a plus.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
    • An open mind with the courage to question conventional thinking and take on challenges.

    PREFERENCES

Do you want to be part of a team that brings to the forefront the next generation of technological innovations that will redefine the future of drug discovery?

Do you want to make your mark creating a drug discovery platform that will impact the future of therapeutic advancements?

Are you ready to join a truly different drug discovery organization?

Verseon is seeking highly talented and motivated medicinal chemists who answer yes to all of the above questions.

Candidates should have impeccable research credentials in informatics driven medicinal chemistry with a strong synthesis background, possess exceptional problem solving ability, and have a proven track record of intellectual achievement.

Possible relevant research experience would include (combinatorial) synthesis of lead series and lead libraries, retrosynthetic analysis, SAR, hit-to-lead design and validation, PK profiling, predictive ADMET, chemoinformatics, and the in-silico design and scientific curation of large chemical compound libraries.
