    BACKGROUND

    We would like to bring to the attention of all qualified members of Bioinformatics/Biostatistics community that we are looking for an experienced Biostatistician. We are a well and privately funded company based in Northern Ireland and we are looking for the top quality people, both with experience and with potential, to support our rapid expansion in areas of genomics services and development of array based diagnostics for cancer. We are part of a large organisation and can offer combination of the dynamism and excitement of a start-up with stability of large international company.     RESPONSIBILITIES

    The successful candidate will be responsible for providing statistical expertise and support in the field of DNA microarrays. He/she will be expected to drive the development and implementation of statistically sound protocols for experimental design, data QC and analysis. They will also be involved in the generation and assessment of clinical trial data, presenting statistical results and training of other group members.

    REQUIREMENTS

    The successful candidate will have at least a master's degree in biostatistics and experience in statistical approaches used for the design and analysis of microarray experiments. He/she will have broader experience of applying statistics in biomedical research and be familiar with statistical/mathematical software such as SAS, MatLab, SPSS, S+/R and with BioConductor tools. They will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to work closely in a team as well as interact efficiently with external consultants, collaborators and customers. People and project managemnt skills as well as PhD in biostatistics and experience in QA and clinical trial design and analysis are highly desirable.

    Permanent contract (subject to probation)

    COMPENSATION:
    Salary will commensurate with experience and accomplishments and will include 33.5 days holiday per year (including statutory days), company pension scheme, enhanced sick pay and maternity entitlements, healthcare plan and opportunities for learning and development.
