BACKGROUND

Candidate will work with researchers and business analysts to formulate requirements for Information Warehouse applications supporting specific research or medical center needs. Candidate will aid in the design, management, and development of applications, including the selection of optimal technology and resources used to implement the solution, formulation of new data models, composition of use-cases, and design and implementation of code.REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in a biological science (such as M.D., Molecular Genetics, Microbiology, Biochemistry)
- Degree in Computer Science or significant software development experience
- 1 or more years of experience performing lab or research work in areas such as: epidemiology/pathology, proteomics / electrophoresis, protein structure research, genotyping, sequencing, statistical genomics, or micro-array work.
- 1 or more years of experience developing bioinformatics software in support of research
- 1 or more years experience with Java, C++, or .NET programming
- Experience with SQL and relational data modeling
PREFERENCES
Recommended:
- Experience with public and open-source BioMedical Informatics resources and software.
- Experience with data mining tools and techniques.
- Experience applying statistical methodologies to research data analysis.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy protection requirements.
- Modern application analysis and design experience a plus (agile/iterative methodology, UML, design patterns, use-case composition, etc.)
- EJB / J2EE experience a plus.
