Opportunity: Two graduate assistantships are available at CS department of Clemson University--US

BACKGROUND:
High-throughput biological technologies and accumulated biological research have created enormous amount of biological data and there is an urgent need to develop computational methods that perform integrated analyses of all kinds of biological data, for example, DNA sequences, protein-protein interaction, chromosomal localization, literature, and so on.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The major aim of this Ph.D. program is to develop novel computational algorithms and tools for integrative analyzing large biology related data. The students will be trained in an interdisciplinary academic environment including expertise in molecular biology, large-scale technologies and computational biology.
REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be highly self-motivated and have a strong interest in computational biology. Applications are welcome from students in all computation related areas, including computer science, statistics, statistical physics, biophysics, applied math, computational chemistry.
PREFERENCES:
Programming skills is desired.
