DESCRIPTION

We are seeking motivated individuals to help us create the Immune Epitope Database, a new bioinformatics resource that will aid the development of vaccines, immunotherapeutics, and diagnostics, and will assist scientists better understand immune mechanisms. The on-line database will include data collected from peer-reviewed journal articles by curators. Candidates will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge of immunology and/or bioinformatics, thus gaining invaluable insights and working experience in these two cutting edge disciplines while working on an NIH-funded program at one of the countryâ??s top immunological research institutes.

REQUIREMENTS

This position requires knowledge of immunology, attention to detail, the ability to use a personal computer, and an interest in reading scientific research articles. Candidates should have or be working on a degree in biology, biochemistry, or related field. Preference will be given to those holding a Masters or Ph.D.

COMPENSATION

The position offers an informal work environment in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego. A well-equipped gym and locker room are available on the premises, along with ample free parking. Work hours are flexible, and opportunities for telecommuting may evolve over time. Full and part time positions exist. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
