In BIRCH Release A1.97, the programs launched by GDE have been redistributed among four specialized interfaces:
GDE: sequence data
dGDE: list data
mGDE: discrete state data
tGDE: phylogenetic tree data
The four interfaces provide a more organized framework for point-and-click data pipelining.
Examples:
- When output from a program is a sequence, it appears in a new GDE window, allowing additional sequence tasks to be run on the output sequences.
- Tree output is opened in a tGDE window, which can run programs that operate on trees.
