    BACKGROUND:
    The La Jolla Institute for Allergy & Immunology (LIAI) is a nonprofit,
    biomedical research institute focused on immunology. Founded in 1988, LIAI
    was recently ranked among the top five molecular biology and genetics
    research institutions in the world.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    In the group of Dr. Alessandro Sette, we are seeking postdoctoral bioinformaticians to help create web based analysis tools to be integrated into the Immune Epitope Database (IEDB). The IEDB is a new NIH funded resource that will aid the development of vaccines, immunotherapeutics, and diagnostics, and assist scientists better understand immune mechanisms.

    REQUIREMENTS

    The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D in Bioinformatics / Computer Science (or related field) and some knowledge of immunology, or a Ph.D. in Biochemistry / Immunology (or related field) with hands on computer programming experience. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment are essential.
