Opportunity: Postdoc in BIOINFORMATICS at UBC Bioinformatics Centre, Vancouver, BC (Canada)

A position is available immediately, in the laboratory of Francis Ouellette, to lead the development of a system for the integration of diverse data sets to aid researchers in assessing hypotheses about the mechanisms underlying specific human genetic disorders, using both human and model organism data. Data types may include molecular interactions, functional classification, gene expression and scientific literature. The Ouellette laboratory (http://bioinformatics.ubc.ca/ouellette/) is part of the newly established UBC Bioinformatics Centre (UBiC) at the University of British Columbia.

REQUIREMENTS
Interested candidates should have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in computer science, molecular biology, or statistics, and demonstrated experience in programming, algorithms, graph theory, probability, data mining, and/or interpreting biological data. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated capacity to work in a multidisciplinary, highly collaborative environment and be able to communicate research data clearly through publications and oral presentations to both life science and computer science audiences.
