RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are searching for an enthusiastic developer to join our comparative genomics group in Ensembl at the EBI. The position will be bridging between the comparative genomics position and the data mining group, providing more of the comparative genomics data through our data mining interfaces. Ensembl (http://www.ensembl.org) is one of the leaders in genome annotation and one of the groups at the European Bioinformatics Institute.

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will have significant bioinformatics experience with a PhD in a molecular biology subject or a masters in a computer science discipline and experience in bioinformatics. A minimum of 3 years experience in a programming environment, including Perl programming and SQL database experience are required. The ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal and communication skills and should be able to work well as a part of a team.

TERMS

An initial contract of 3 years will be offered to the successful candidate. This can be renewed, depending on circumstances at the time of review.
