    BACKGROUND

    Our DC area company aims to be the drug development partner of choice for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries by providing a unique portfolio of drug discovery and development solutions. Their capabilities span the drug development pipeline and address some of the most important issues in drug development today - productivity, safety, and enhancing late-stage pipelines.

    We are helping them identify an ideal candidate for their Biostatistician position.

    Responsibilities:
    • Help to develop and optimize a SNP analysis program using data from commercially available microarrays such as Affymetrix GeneChip technology.
    • Work with customers in analyzing SNP microarray data and delivering reports, presentations, etc.
    • High degree of interaction with pharmaceutical clients
    • Provide marketing and scientific collateral with respect to SNP analysis capabilities for service
    • Standardize report formats and deliverables
    Requirements:
    • Advanced degree in Statistics and/or Biology
    • Expert knowledge of genotyping, linkage disequilibrium, haplotyping, copy number, and linkage analyses
    • Knowledge of various microarray processes and analyses
    • Effective oral and written communication a must
    • Highly intuitive
    • Working knowledge of standard statistical software packages including R/Splus
