Geneious beta software for sequence analysis has this week made it in to the top three in the software `Hot Picks' on Apple's download website, and is the featured software in Apple's Math & Science section.

``This result validates the hard work our team has done,'' Daniel Batten, CEO of Biomatters Ltd which is developing Geneious, said. ``It also sits well with the very strong endorsement we have been receiving from scientists using the software.

``It is a credit to our engineers that they have managed to deliver such a full range of features in a comparatively very trim 6 MB product.

``We are looking forward to making the 1.0 version available very soon.''

Geneious beta is freeware.
