    BACKGROUND

The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) is storing and providing the public portal for several whole genome association studies (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/WGA/), such as the groundbreaking Genetic Association Information Network (GAIN; http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/WGA/programs/GAIN/), and the Framingham Genetic Research Study (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/WGA/studies/Framingham/). These studies aim to discover associations between genetic variants and risk for disease.

Computercraft seeks computational biologists with a background in human clinical or animal model phenotype data to work with NCBI scientists to curate clinical phenotype data and its association with large-scale genomic data.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will include data reformatting, data quality control, management of a relational database, data curation, integration of study metadata, and communication with external investigators.
