DESCRIPTION

The Agricultural Research Organization solicits applicants for a tenure-track position in bioinformatics and computational biology in its institutional Genomics Department.

REQUIREMENTS

This position requires a doctoral degree in bioinformatics, statistics or computer science, postdoctoral experience, and evidence of outstanding research potential. Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with research scientists are essential requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate is expected to support advanced research programs covering aspects of bioinformatics and computational biology, to assemble and lead a team to enable significant collaboration with other scientists in the Agricultural Research Organization in development and application of bioinformatics approaches for genome annotation, for reconstructing metabolic pathways, and for building computational models for metabolic and regulatory networks.

START DATE

The starting date is Sept-Oct 2006. Starting rank will be commensurate with qualifications.
