ABOUT US

Nature Source Genetics is a computational genomics company dedicated to the development and application of new algorithms that can be used to harness natural genetic variation in the improvement of crop plants. Located in Ithaca, New York, near the Cornell University campus, NSG scientists interact with a team of distinguished faculty from Cornell and other major research institutions, to solve problems related to quantitative genetics, including optimization of population structure/design, QTL detection/validation, and QTL deployment in commercial breeding programs. In addition to the computational headquarters in Ithaca, NSG has access to experimental field test sites around the world.

REQUIREMENTS

â?¢ Ph.D. or M.S. degree in genetics, quantitative genetics, population genetics, plant breeding or related disciplines
â?¢ Experience and/or training in quantitative genetics and population genetics theory
â?¢ Experience and/or training in use of molecular markers for population diversity studies and for QTL detection
â?¢ Ability to work in a group setting involving scientists both inside and outside of the company
â?¢ Ability to plan, execute and oversee projects involving multiple collaborators
â?¢ Willingness to travel to test sites as part of project execution
â?¢ Ability to prepare scientific reports and presentations that clearly convey progress and challenges, and coordinate activities leading to related scientific publications, presentations, and patent filings.
