Vitae Pharmaceuticals is financed by leading corporate and venture capital investors and is headquartered in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania.RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Research Scientist in the Computational Drug Discovery group, you will help to develop and maintain the company's proprietary drug discovery technology. You will develop and implement fast and accurate methods for making predictions (such as protein-ligand binding free energies) to aid decision-making during preclinical drug discovery. You will design and code algorithms (in C++ and Java) for calculating molecular properties and simulating biological systems. You will work on Vitae's Integrated Drug Discovery System, a Java-based, three-tiered molecular data management application comprising a GUI front end, a 200+CPU compute cluster and a 200GB Oracle database.REQUIREMENTS
- PhD in physical chemistry, chemical physics, physics, or biophysics from a top tier graduate program.
- Good understanding of physics, physical chemistry, and structural biology.
- 4+ years of independent research experience with computational simulations of biological phenomena such as protein folding or protein-ligand binding.
