    BACKGROUND

The successful candidate will have expertise in structural biology and structural bioinformatics. Key accomplishments in the field of antibody modeling and structure-based drug discovery of protein therapeutics are required. Proven track record of high-quality scientific achievements is highly desired. In addition, must have excellent quantitative skills including exploratory data analysis, data mining, scoring functions, algorithm development, and statistics, and familiarity with different methods of visualizing quantitative data. In addition, the successful candidate will have the following skills:
    • Strong process and analytical skills.
    • Solid understanding of project management techniques.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage a complex workload and prioritize tasks based on program goals.
    • Ability to lead through influencing and negotiating.
    • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to work quickly and independently and as a strong team player.
    • In-depth knowledge of commercial protein modeling and design tools.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • The principal scientist will be responsible for conducting protein modeling and design efforts to drive our iterative protein optimization platform toward the selection of candidate NMEs.
    • Develop structure/model-based predictions for the design of novel therapeutic proteins including antibodies and targeted modification of proteins to support functional optimization of candidate molecules.
    • Provide scientific input into protein design, and informatics/data mining. Collaborate with team to conduct needs assessment, select and determine metadata requirements for bioresearch information objects and tools.
    • Evaluate and recommend, or develop software tools to support our protein design including protein-protein docking, and de novo design.
    • Develop network of relationships and collaborations with leaders in the field of computational protein design.
