RESPONSIBILITIES

Research Department Head Roles + Responsibilities Overview· Line Manger of technical professionals (PhD/MS level)· Responsibility for projects, resources, staffing, etc.· Project renewal for value creation.· Technical interaction and visibility in regional technical & professional organizations.· Manage relationships with universities, scientific institutions, government contracts, etc.· Owner/champion of Long Range Technical Objectives within global research program.· Content responsibility for strategic direction of LRTO across regional laboratories.· Impact on content of projects involving 50 professionals worldwide

REQUIREMENTS

Desired Candidate Background· Experience in leading technical research which drives clinical outcomes.· Both line management and strategy development skills.· Technical recognition in field of expertise.· Strong verbal and written communication skills. · Successful grant writing experience a plus.· PhD or equivalent in Medical Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, or Computer Science.

PREFERENCES

We prefer candidates who have a strong clinical background, has designed and implemented a clinically useful tool, has a strong reputation in this domain, has a strong vision for the future of biomedical informatics and has a strong desire to succeed.

TERMS

This is a Research Department Head. This person will own the medical IT portfolio for Philips Research. This is a full time position with Philips.

LOCALE

Philips Research USA is located in beautiful Briarcliff Manor, NY. This historic village offers the best of cosmopolitan or suburban worlds, just one hour north of Manhattan, Briarcliff is located in historic Westchester County.
