BACKGROUND
We are looking for a postdoctoral associate to join the new bioinformatics group in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate should have a PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, applied mathematics, or statistics. Expected are solid mathematical/statistical background, strong programming skills, and keen desire of carrying out first-class research. Past research experiences in biomedical engineering (including but not limited to bioinformatics, computational proteomics, and biomedical signal/image processing) are highly valued. Biological knowledge is a plus but not a must. Close interactions with biochemistry researchers on HKUST campus are encouraged.TERMS
The expected starting date is October 1st, 2006 or soon after. The initial appointment is for one year. Extension is possible and will be made based on mutual agreement.
