    DESCRIPTION

    The Zon laboratory at Children's Hospital Boston and Harvard Medical School is seeking a self-motivated individual with strong bioinformatics / computational biology(Master's degree or above) and basic biology (Bachelor's degree or above) background to join the lab's dynamic bioinformatics team.

    The lab research projects focus mainly on hematopoiesis, stem cell biology, and cancer biology using zebrafish as a model organism. Current projects include but not limited to microarray analysis and annotation, comparative genomics, genome map construction and analysis, and genome sequence annotations.

    REQUIREMENTS

    The ideal candidate will have a good portion of the following qualifications:

    1. working knowledge of genetics & genomics, including microarrays,
    2. basic knowledge of general Biology, Cell Biology, and Developmental Biology,
    3. two plus years of Windows-based & Linux-based development team experience,
    4. two plus years programming experience with perl, bioperl, bioconductor, VB, .NET, java),
    5. experience using R or Matlab for data analysis,
    6. working knowledge of NCBI, EBI, Ensembl, UCSC, Sanger Center, and other biomedical databases, and organizing data according to Relational Database principle,
    7. two plus years experience with high-quality web publishing using HTML, DHTML, ASP and CGI.
