    BACKGROUND:
    A Bioinformatics Programmer position is available with a project that will use a combination of proteomics, microarray, protein array, and bioinformatics tools to conduct research in the fields of malaria vaccine development, malaria pathogenesis, severe malarial anemia, and liver stage malaria

    REQUIREMENTS:
    Candidates with a B.S. degree in Computer Sciences, Statistics or Life Sciences such as biochemistry, biology, genetics, and microbiology are encouraged to apply. Other qualifications include but are not limited to:
    • A minimum of two years Java programming experience (JSP, Java servlets, Java Bean, Java Swing, Enterprise Bean, web services and connection pooling), or other object-oriented programming experience
    • Database programming experience with MS SQL server, MySQL or Oracle
    E-R database model design
    • OO design and UML design
    • Prior experience with Apache Tomcat and/or Sun Java System Application Servers
    • Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to discuss issues and solutions with scientists effectively.
