Thomas Sicheritz-Ponten created and maintains ``Molecular Linux,'' a registry and repository of Linux applications for molecular biology. Thomas started the project several years ago while a graduate student in Sweden. It has since become well-known as one of the largest registries for such applications.
Thomas is now at the Technical University of Denmark and has decided to make Bioinformatics.org the permanent home for Molecular Linux. It will be one of the central features of the site, and, now being MySQL and PHP-based, it will be integrated with The Open Lab and the up-coming search system. It will also include Free/Open Source applications for non-Linux platforms.
If you find that a Free/Open Source application is not listed there (except for those at The Open Lab, which will be added later), you can submit the information using the form on the page.
