DESCRIPTION
The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation's Bioinformatics laboratory is seeking a post-doctoral fellow with strong background and experience in bioinformatics, molecular genetics and genomics. The successful candidate will work as a member of a larger integrative functional genomics team conducting fundamental science discovery in plant focused on Medicago truncatula, tall fescue and other plant species. He or she will carry out independent researches and participate in collaborative experiments on the application of bioinformatics and genomics technologies to modern plant biological questions.
Research will be conducted in the laboratory of Dr. Patrick Xuechun Zhao in the Plant Biology Division at the Noble Foundation. The Noble Foundation has state-of-the-art research, greenhouse, laboratory, and office facilities. Salary starts from $40,000 or more depending on the qualifications, and is bundled with excellent benefits.REQUIREMENTS
Preferred qualifications include: Education to the level of PhD in bioinformatics / computational biology / computer science and/or crop genomics and molecular genetics; Good understanding of plant genomics and genetics researches; Programming skills with at least one of the following languages: C/C++, Perl, PHP and Java; Capability of developing bioinformatics applications to aid basic researches in plant science; Knowledge on SQL language and SQL Server; Experience in developing large scale scientific database and data analysis systems. Experience in bioinformatics is desired.HOW TO APPLY
