DESCRIPTION
A postdoctoral position in Computational Biophysics is available immediately in the research group of Dr. Marta Filizola at Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York City. Major research activities in the lab focus on the development and application of computational methods to help discover new types of functional modulation of biological systems, and novel approaches to drug development.DURATION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position is for one year, renewable based on satisfactory performance. The duties include developing and applying computational methods to study the dynamics of interacting biological macromolecules and/or ligand-protein complexes. The ideal candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Biophysics, Biochemistry or Theoretical/Computational Chemistry. Relevant areas of experience might include performing molecular dynamic simulations of proteins embedded in a lipid bilayer, molecular modeling, exploring different conformational states of a protein, analyzing transition pathways between different conformational states, utilizing information from multi-sequence alignments to create and evaluate molecular models.HOW TO APPLY
Applicants should send an email to Dr. Marta Filizola at maf2037[at]med.cornell.edu including a CV and a cover letter describing research experience and research interests. CV should include a full list of publications, and at least 2 references.
