    BACKGROUND

    I am looking for a Bioinformatician for the Sens-it-iv EU Project (http://www.sens-it-iv.eu). The aim of the Sens-it-iv project is to develop "in vitro" alternatives to animal tests currently used for the risk assessment of potential skin or lung sensitizers, the Freiburg Center for Data Analysis and Modelling (FDM) in Germany is workpackage leader for the Data Management and Bioinformatics part of the project.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The applicant will be responsible for the implementation of the Sens-it-iv database (predominantly genomics, proteomics and metabolomics data) and for the development and implementation of algorithms for the evaluation of this data.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Ideally the candidate should have programming experience, a scientific background in Bioinformatics and Data Mining and be familiar with open-source Bioinformatics tools and standards for -omics data. A doctoral thesis might be possible.

    approximatly 3 years (depends on budget confirmation)
