BACKGROUND
The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) will maintain a public repository for whole genome association studies (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/WGA/), such as the groundbreaking Genetic Association Information Network (GAIN; http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/WGA/programs/GAIN/), and the Framingham Genetic Research Study (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/WGA/studies/Framingham/). These studies aim to discover associations between genetic variants and disease phenotypes.
Computercraft seeks biologists with a background in human clinical or animal model phenotype data to work with NCBI scientists to curate clinical phenotype data and its association with large-scale genomic data.
Responsibilities will include data quality control, data curation, integration of study metadata, and communication with external investigators. This is an opportunity to be involved in the development of a new resource with the potential to revolutionize human genetic disease research.
